A rainy day didn't stop many from riding to the show including these Vespa riders.
(The free bike parking was also an incentive)


You really didn't have to spend $12. to see the bikes inside...there was quite a show
outside in the parking lot.


I went over to the San Jose BMW display hoping to meet Dean.
That's him on the right along with the current owner of San Jose BMW, Chris Hodgson.


The new R1200GS Adventure drew lots of attention.


So new that it had no price tag unlike the other bikes.


This guy made the massive bike look tiny.


Front view. The windscreen and engine guards come as standard equipment.

And of course there were hundreds of other bikes including a great collection of Arlen Ness bikes.
This one by his grandson Zack Ness called a "Sick Ness", on sale for $86,980. or was that the mileage

Russian made Ural bikes w/side cars drew a crowd.


As did "Buddy" the tough looking Harley dog.


Rossi's bright yellow Yamaha.


And if Rossi's yellow is a little too much for your bike,
you could cover it with camo cloth and mount camo tires.


The great Eddie Lawson was on hand signing autographs.


And in honor of DJ who hopefully will return to this board, meet
umbrella girls Amanda and Jennifer.

Was that your silver R in the parking lot?

Great pics and write up. I know that the silver R is not yours unless you painted your black one. Dean Looks great.

Yup, I painted my black R silver when I heard it was the fastest color - Not!
Yes, it was nice to finally meet Dean and talk with him a bit. He seems to be a great guy who loves motorcycling.

taosports ... thanks for sharing your great pics . it's always interesting to see how certain bikes end up at other bike shows

In Toronto we had the HP2 and the R1200S, but we never got the
K1200GT or the GS adventure and the new 800.

I think that he has already maxed out the GVWR.

GVWR???..........that front suspension looks like it just hit a big bump..

Did that bike let out a squeal when he sat on it...and is it thinking..please don't lift that other foot dude..................is this the same guy?..

Michael, it was great meeting and talking with you, met a lit of fellow riders from the west coast.

Re the new R1200GS ADV, we recieved the bike in a crate at San Jose BMW having been airfreighted directly from Germany, had fun helping to put it together. The only riding that I was able to do over the week out there was all over San Jose on a BV 500 Piaggio (Vespa) scooter. Don't laugh until you have tried it, a total blast and will out drag all the cages at a stop light. We were hoping that the new R1200S would also be at the show, but did not make it.

The speculation that I heard, not strong speculation however at this time, is that a new R1200R just might appear at about the same time as the R1200S launch.

This guy is a customer of SJBMW and is the nicest guy that you will ever hope to meet.

Yes, he seemed very nice...I talked to him a bit and he was wishing he had held off on his recent purchase of the R1200GS - told me he would have waited for the Adventurer had he known it was coming out soon.
