saturday 10 00 am my buddy who rides a suz sv 650 s ,by the way he's on my ass the whole way hardly anyone on the road especially cagers about 50 degrees sunny... had full gear [as always] heated vest , grips aswell in total compfort up to julian for lunch ,then back down haul'in ass. in fact on one open stretch [s2] no cross traffic ,we hit 120 plus for a few minutes just thought i'd rub it in for those of you who cant ride in dec

i rode to get some food and back yesterday. 34 degrees, 6 miles round trip.

Saturday I spent refereeing a soccor game at the Rose Bowl, watching my kids team win a playoff game, & looking at ponies for a daughter.

Sunday in LA was just incredible. Cool, crisp, blue skys, not a cloud in the sky. Had the 12,000 mile service done last Tuesday, new tires 2 weeks ago, man is the bike riden nice. Rode up to Newcomb's Ranch on the crest, was getting pretty chilly. Down into the 40's!!!!

Heated grips were on high, a rarity in LA.

A sport bike at the very beginning of the mountain was getting a ticket from our local sheriff, Officer Smith. Turns out seems it was too cold for Officer Stout, the Chippie who gave me a ticket a short while back. Only had to pass a few cagers & one old UJM. Thought the rider might be a hoon, but then noticed his boat shoes. Exposed ankles must have been freezing.

Once on top, actually got hot coffee w/ my egg McNewcomb, I normally get iced tea, but was just too cold. Talked to a fellow RR rider with a very nice ride, ohlins front & rear, mini screen, full staintune system, chip, & some kind of "spark time lengthening thing" that he said made his single spark bike ride better. Also had some nice carbon fiber bits in place of the rear footpegs.

Bought a long sleeve T-shirt for the ride down. Was pretty breezy, maybe 40mph gusts, but the RR was pretty rock stable. At the very bottom of the hill, maybe 2 turns up, had to wait while a cruiser rider was put into an ambulance. Hopefully not hurt too bad, they had him strapped down to a board but didn't seem in a hurry. Looked like he overshot (wide to the outside & a wall) maybe the 2nd curve of the day.

All in all another fun 60 mile Sunday ride.

Unfortunately were expecting some rain this week, makes the crest a bit iffy until the cars clean the roadway. Could be snow & ice on top too. But thats next weekend.

This is my favorite time to ride in LA.
