The annual food drive, but I wanted to be riding instead....

My day didn't start well. I was on my way to join folk for a Bonneville ride, only for things to go wrong in the first half-hour of my ride.
(Map w/directions flew off my tank, new leather jacket too HUGE for me, ear plugs didn't work well, fogged up glasses, condensation faster than I could wipe it off my face shield, ((almost))bald tire on slippery roads, cow piss & dung thrown up on the bike from the road.......) So I returned home, cleaned the bike, and watched as the weather steadily improved. Shortly before 11:00, I was reminded of my buddies' canned food drive they do every year. I put my ("outlaw") Biker regalia on, a half helmet & goggles, and set out for the local chapter's 'Sons of California' function.

It was good to see old friends. They don't go in much for crotch rockets joining them on their rides; so even though my Sprint RS was Black and a Triumph, I had to remain scarce. My Black Bonneville was much better accepted, if not the center of attention frequently. The weather turned out great, the music was cool, and plenty canned items were donated to St. Mary's.

Though I would have rather been out riding, I made the best of my day joining old friends for a beer and small talk. It turned out to be a good day!

Pat,

a great day out. My ride today in foggy England was ok but damp and cold. Missed the sunshine!! But you don't notice the cold when your riding on your favourite bike.

Thanks for the pictures.
