Feeling environmentally guilty about deleting my cat

Deleted the cat and muffler and replaced it with a Y-pipe.
Wondering if there's an aftermarket cat that can just bolt on to the end of the Y-pipe that's not as restrictive as the stock cat?

I've not heard of one.
You can always run the OE catalyser box by itself with a 'tip'.
I don't think it makes a huge difference to performance anyway.

Think about that next time you see a semi-truck. Guilt gone! :?

...quite....says another no-cat Y-pipe rider, following close behind an un-MOT'd ten-year-old heavy goods vehicle whose driver knows a bent MOT station.
Anyway, think of the weight you've saved - that cat lump weighs 12 Kg.

Well that's a change from viewtopic.php?f=2&t=34909
$ 400 spent in Oct 2016 :shock:
You should have kept the cat. You could have put it back in place now.

I keep al the parts I replace with aftermarket stuff. For whenever I want to go back or one day when I want to sell the bike I can sell the aftermarket stuff apart from the original bike. The original bike is worth more and the after market stuff brings an extra $.
But it'll be a long time before I sell this bike. It'll be a real classic by then. I love this bike, it'll probably be the last bike I will ride.
Been riding for over 40 years now and this is the best of the lot.

I have replaced so many stock exhaust systems I’ve lost count.
The 1150 is BY FAR the heaviest. Now to fab a center stand stop.....
Yeah yeah, it looks better and saves more weight to not have it.

Just to be clear, I do not regret deleting the stock cat as it was far too restrictive, and heavy.
I'm only wondering if there's something aftermarket that I can twist onto the Y-pipe and have it clean out some of the emissions.
I'm thinking the answer is no

I seems to me that the designers of these bikes would not want to have a cat that is "too restrictive".
It is probably designed that way so it WORKS!
Adding some kind of aftermarket CAT that is not designed for the bike is just a waste of time and money.
Get over the guilt and ride :-)
