moly additive for FD
I've been using Guard Dog moly in my FD for the last 10 years. Sadly they stopped production last summer and I've used up the last of my supply. Do any of you guys use a moly additive in your FD and if so what brand? I've seen some others on line but a little of experience driven direction would be helpful.

Re: moly additive for FD
Wow that's bad news because I have always used it as well. I just did the tranny and FD last month and think I still had a little left.

Re: moly additive for FD
TowerWorker, That's a good heads-up . . . . time to stock up. After my 2002 R1150R completed the break-in miles I used full synthetic Mobil-1 gear oil, and still had a FD big bearing failure.
Copy-n-Pasted from seller:
"GD-401 Moly Treatment for gear oils is a specially formulated molybdenum disulfide gear oil additive designed for use in hypoid gear oils. This 401 formulation is made with molybdenum disulfide, mineral oil, and other additives and is engineered to enable maximum moly benefits. This product is ideal for final drive gear boxes as used on all Guzzi motorcycles, in particular when using mineral based oils. 8 ounce bottle treats 2 quarts of gear oil, which depending on model, will complete up to 10 rear drive gear oil changes, lasting most riders many years. Tip: For maximum benefit, always shake the bottle prior to dispensing because some settling will occur while the bottle is on the shelf."
F800ST just past 8 years ownership with 29K miles on the original maintenance free belt drive . . . . that still looks like new.
