Brighter headlight option(s)

I want to see clearer and farther down the road.
The hi-beams let me see clearer around me at the same distance but they don't project far enough down the road.
Is there a brighter bulb option even if it means refreshing the headlight assembly?

To get light out a long distance in front of you requires a different optical setup.
A brighter bulb might help but installing an auxiliary spot light will give better results.

Are you asking the same question, like you did in september?

omg I did - the mechanic that wired the ball joint nut said that I should use H4 55/60 with the stock bulb holder and relay and if I went to 80/100 it would be brighter but I'd have to replace the stock housing and relay to account for the additional heat

 I rarely went on to main beam last night in the rain, as there was plenty of traffic. But when on main beam it was much better than dipped for range down the road. I use a brighter than standard Philips H4 bulb.

I have a PIAA Superwhite H4 55/60 for the headlight and a set of PIAA 510 driving lights with PIAA Superwhite H3 lamps .

More than enough light for night conditions, which comprise about half of my riding .

are your driving lights an additional add-on to the stock headlight?
I read a thread on this here but didn't seem like a project I had the resources to tackle.
Now maybe I will

Yes the PIAA 510's are mounted on a Wunderlich crash bar .

Quite some time I ago installed a rather simple
Eastern Beaver headlight relay kit, # H-4.
It still shows up on their website.

Basically you tap power directly off the battery thru a fuse and a relay to the headlite.
The relay is controlled with the stock headlight switch and uses the stock switch wiring.

Pretty simple and not very expensive. Is said to prevent burning out headlite switches
and wiring because of the load.

My headlite is quite a bit brighter, and this kit will support a higher wattage bulb altho
that may be illegal. I used the stock wattage bulb and it made a noticeable difference.

I'm such a D/A, after not paying attention to my headlight housing I realized it was drooping as a result of bumps in the road etc. I pulled it up to proper height and now I can see

When I bought mine a year ago the headlight was really dim

Swapped an Osram silver star for the existing piaa. Way brighter much less money.

I'm going to look at the reflector now too.

Thanks
