Battlax T30 EVO GT spec?

Hello everyone!

I'm looking to get a new set of tires for my bike, and have heard good things about the Battlax T30 EVO's.

I'm not sure if I should get the tires with the "GT spec" or not. Bridgestone says the "GT spec" is for heavier vehicles. they don't explain how heavy a "heavier vehicle" is...

I always ride solo, no passenger, no bags. should I get the "GT spec" for a naked roadster? or would the normal version non-GT tires work fine?

any insight is appreciated!

I know nothing of these tires.... But based on your post...

do you carry a lot of weight, or do you do a lot of tight fast cornering? IF its the former, it might be worth it. Might have harder compound, vs stickiness.

I've got the T30 EVO's and I like them a lot. Had the Michelin PR3 before these and I like the T30 more.
The 1150R isn't a heavy big and riding solo I got the EVO's without the GT spec. Those are for the heavier RT's and riders who often have a passenger or ride with their panniers with luggage a lot.
Just my 2 cents.

I don't carry alot of weight (I'm 175lbs), no luggage, no passengers. I dont do as much fast cornering as I would like. mostly commuting (highway, country roads & city).

I'm thinking the non-GT spec would be a slightly smoother ride because of less stiffness in the tire.

The Pirelli Angle GT's would be a much better choice. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/pir ... oC3vzw_wcB

Good Evening,

I have been using since 1 year Battlax Evo T30 on my R1150R, usually with loaded panniers. Living in a rainy region, I can comment that curve handling on wet is perfect. For unexpected stops, after they are hot, brake distance is relatively short compared to michelins.

I suggest that you review the following video as well,

I just test rode a K1200R fitted with T30s and I didn't like them*

I found that at low speed they caused the bike to 'wander' a lot - ie follow every little inconsistency in the road surface. The K12R is a very different bike to the R1150R though!

caveat : I don't like Bridgestones generally, never have.
