1150R signal light issue

I just noticed this happening a couple times now. I activate the turn signal and blink rate is normal but after maybe 10-15 seconds they flash at a faster rate a few times and then back to normal.
this happens with L and R signals, but not every time and doesn't matter if engine is running or not!

Usually when turn directionals flash at a faster rate, there is higher resistance in the circuit .
Could be a faulty relay as well .

As it happens with both L and R there seems to be no obvious fault in the left or the right circuit. I suspect the indicator relay.
BTW I have exactly the same issue with my bike. For the last three years this happens on and of, at random.
After 1 kilometer or after 50,warm or cold, wet or dry, no difference.
Replacing all bulbs did not make a difference.

agree relay is probably the cause, I have on order the Kisan unit so will know soon.

installed the SM5 so now have turn signal auto cancel and running light option BUT programming the running lights a problem.
Option low running lights -works
Option no running lights -works
Option bright running lights - Nodda
Either off or low running lights.
So does anyone have the bright option for the running lights?

Bright works on mine, 2003 r with SM....BUT have read that running with the bright will have a heat related failure and loose bulb socket! Hence I run on low and remember how to shut it down if the police stop me because of the running light color?

I've been running the SM for 14 years, always on bright running lights. I've barely had to replace any bulbs. Don't worry about it.
