Love letter from a KR stalker.

I came out of work tonight to find a sheet of pink tablet paper rolled up an wedged in my handlebars. Here's the note:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Hi!

I am thinking about getting a K1200R like yours and wanted to know if you wanted to swap bikes for a couple of hours.

I have:
- 2003 Harley-Davidson V-Rod
- 2004 BMW Adventure

I love your bike and would love a call just to talk.

Cheers!
Name
Phone number.

------------------------------------------------------------

You gotta respect a fellow who lusts after your bike and I have no problem giving him a call. The big question is how many of you would consider swapping bikes with a stranger?

I am inclined to do it. He sounds sincere and has the credentials with the other bikes. They are actually bikes I would like to ride. I would choose the V-Rod just because I know others with GS's I could borrow. What do you think? What should I say if I call him?

Base your decision on your feelings after meeting him, other wise reccomend a dealer that will give a test ride.

I agree with Dean.
Maybe he doesn't know BMW dealers give free test rides.

Thanks guys. That's a good point. They have another KR at my local dealer and I'll refer him to the salesman that sold me mine.

Maybe his dealers suck like mine and won't demo KS's or KR's!

Hey kevin, just make sure he buys you dinner first, and remember....no means no!

Seriously, i would'nt do it. Tell him to find a dealer and vaporize their tires.

In 1975 I bought a new Goldwing. Great machine, especially for its time. A friend had a new Sportster and wanted to swap rides for a while. I switched with him, the machine was the biggest piece of crap I've ever ridden. The big problem was that I couldn't catch him to tell him I want to change back. :(

About 30 miles later he pulled over. My beaten, bruised body almost fell off the stinking machine. Never again will I trade bikes when I’ll be riding the slower machine.

To be sure the dealer will give him a demo, go along with him. I'm sure the dealer will think he has a sure sale. :D

Alarm bells are ringing. Pink paper and over use of the 'love' word. Some bloks don't even use that word to their wife. And the guy rides a V-Rod which is the Village peoples bike of choice. I'm not sure that it's about the bike.

Good point, Leno. Also, real men never want to "just talk." Women want to talk; men want to avoid talking and just ride.

Kevin, watch out if he wants to ride pillion. :P

Pillionphobia, a word BTW which moi invented, has risen it's ugly "head" (pardon the pun) again.

Let us know what develops.
