My 2002 r1150rs eng quits when 1st gear selected - side stand is up. I don't have electrical drawings for bike as its a new purchase. I also am new to BMW's.
Tested switch and found 12v from bike at pin #1, with side stand down continuity between pin #1 and 2, side stand up continuity between pin #1 and 3. This was checked at plug connection below seat L/H side. Would anybody know if this is normal operation of switch? I also checked clutch handle micro switch. Traced wires back from switch to plug connection strip lower down and found switch opens and closes. No 12v was found on bike side with key in run position, not sure if this normal? I'm looking for more ideas as to what's next to look at or where to find a drawing for this sys.

I've ordered the DVD shop manual but it has to come on a slow boat it looks like, 3 weeks or more.

How did you deactive the sidestand switch? Connect brown and white wire together?

This is for a 2002 R1150Rt but is accurate for your purposes. http://www.mac-pac.org/wp-content/uploa ... m-V3_3.pdf
