Hi all, has anyone, or does anyone know if there is enough room to move the battery to where the ABS sits if no ABS is fitted ??

Sorry for being lazy but the garage is full atm so i don't want to remove the (full) tank just to check and measure. :)

I've been thinking about this for a while - you've need to modify the battery-mount frame a bit but it should be doable.

It'd move the not-inconsiderable weight of the battery forwards (a good thing), and also give you a HEAP more under-tank storage space (a good thing).

If you do it - take plenty of pics as you go!

Thanks for the replys, my reasoning was purely to move the weight forward and hopefully down a fraction too, which as has already been pointed out is always a good thing.

If i do i will try to do a few pics and a walk through guide.

I do have to tinker with things, i always tell myself i am making improvements, hopefully i am, it feels sharper and quicker to me and is still a comfortable all daay bike, i had a 200+ mile day a week or so ago motorways and A roads it was very nice and all mods seemed to work well. I should do a list of everything i have done to her really..

The battery will fit in the area where the ABS unit would be .
You need to fill in the bottom of the area, as it is too small for a battery, need something about 2 inches thick .
I added a second battery to my '02 R, as a single battery Is not confidence inspiring in colder weather .
