Left Turn Signal

Last week riding home in the rain I noticed my left turn signal was turning itself on.
This morning the signal would not turn on until I pushed it 3-4 times; then it works fine.
It works fine in hazard mode.
It appears to be a faulty left turn switch on the handlebar?

Not necessarily. Do you have your original wire ties tied behind the headlight?
They came from the factory wound incredibly tight, and over time, can crush the wires.
I had to find a broken turn signal wire, and reconnect it last year.

"The problem with those Zipties is that they tightly restrain both main wire harnesses and force them to repeatedly bend sharply in the same place at the Ziptie. If you still have those offending Zipties in place, just turn your steering lock-2-lock while observing how those 2 main harnesses bend. You'll see them folding/moving/bending in one location. That point source repetitive stress bending eventually breaks the cluster of wires inside. When that happens you loose very important functions"

Sorry I forgot to mention I did cut the zip ties at the horn when I bought the bike last year with 11,000 miles on it, but maybe the damage was already done.

I have NOT cut the zip ties under the tank that I just read about.

Turn signal worked fine today; I guess it dried out? Probably means I will have more issues later...

I went ahead and re-taped the wires.

Turns out the switch ended up dying and I replaced it with one from Digikey following the attached youtube video.
