an aromatic slow ride

  • So I was working on some slow riding skills (figure 8, u turns, cone weaves etc) the other day. At the end I noticed an odd smell..not sure how to describe it almost like a burning but not exactly. I am sure I heated up the rear brake as I was on it it a lot. I was also riding the clutch pretty hard also. Has anyone else noticed this? I am fairly certain this is a normal/regular happening. I probably just never noticed it before. Thanks for any insight.

Riding a dry clutch is bad ju-ju. Possible it got some heat in it and made some stank. #-o

I see you're in Springfield. Most likely the wind shifted from the north and what you smelled was some of the bullpoop from our elected officials in congress and the senate.

Nice one.. I can always count on tower worker for some good humor.
I would be surprised though if the clutch could not handle some slow speed manuevering. I only did drills for about 20 or 25 minutes and that included a couple of cool down runs up into 3rd gear in an attempt to keep things cool. Eh I guess I'll have to pay better attention next time see if the bike gets stinky again.
