rear seat cover

I bought a new "metalized" rear seat cover on ebay. Has anybody had any experience with these. The cover looks in new condition and does not appear to be broken but it will not snap in to the rear seat space. It fits fine, but wont lock or "seat". Any ideas? I am waiting to hear back from the seller, but thought I would inquire here as well.

Is it the pillion seat replacement that came with the Rockster? If so it should lock on in the same fashion as the pillion seat.

You mean this R1150R (Rockster) pillion cover?
If so, then mine is also difficult to lock into place. Requires strong push on both sides above the locking posts. I haven't tried any adjustments (yet) to ease the pain.

Mine usually requires more force to lock in than the rear seat does. Sweatmark hit the nail on the head.

Yes, that is it. You are correct, you really have to push on it, I just finally got myself.

If it still has the big foam pad - that can make it hard to push down on anything that you're storing under the seat.

Try putting it on without the two(2) rubber bumpers, I had a problem with mine not locking as well. I beleive that some of the locking pins are shorter. Ended up replacing the rubber bumpers with a four (2 each side) rubber washers from the hardware store.

This what I did with the seat
I glued it after cutting the straps off.
The inside gives me a bit of storage.
Since I bought my wife a mini s convertible she won't ride 2 up.

I had started to try and make my own form. To much work reinventing the wheel. This was much easier.

I'd like to do something like that with mine - but I would prefer it to be totally lockable, just to prevent scroats nicking things!
