cleaning throttle bodies?

I am planning a day of general maintenance on my 96 R. Task include valve adjustment, brake fluid change and bleed, new plugs and fluids.
I am wondering if I should loosen the throttle bodies and shoot them with carb cleaner? Good idea, bad idea, or just unnecessary?

Joel,
I removed my TBs last year, cleaned them, rebuilt the right one with new bushings, performed the "0=0" precedure and balanced them with my Twin-Max manometer.
My suggestion would be to do a valve adjustment first, and then see if you can balance the TBs before taking everything apart.

The most important part of the procedure is this;
"IF YOU HAVE NO COMPLAINTS WITH YOUR BIKE, LEAVE IT ALONE!"
I would just check the TPS voltage before making any adjustments.
