Optimistic Speedo fix?

The speedo on my 96 bears no relation to reality. As near as I can tell, I am showing about 80 mph at 70. Is there a gear change or something that I can do to bring it closer to reality? I have to opposite issue with my vintage vespa. It read about 5 low at 50 mph.

The easiest way of getting an accurate speedo is to add a push bike trip computer.
Sigma do good ones, Get a wired, rather than wireless unit.
Some thing like:-

They are fairly easy to fit, and, once you measure and "tell" the computer exactly how far one revolution of your front wheel takes you, very accurate.

The bike speedometer sounds like a great idea if you really need to keep close track. I have been just relying on my GPS.
