BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

I've been looking at getting some additional lighting for the R1200R. I wanted something that would provide me with better visibility at all times and then extra lighting at night as the town I live in since the recession only has street lighting at intersections.

I looked at SKENE's photon Blaster but they only provide visibility. Then someone on another forum pointed me to these. They are a made specifically for the R1200R. They use the fuel tank mounting screws for mounting them and are shaped perfectly to compliment the bike. They come with a switch and all connecters etc. They were 103 Euros plus 53 Euros for shipping to MA from Germany. It was $203 which is not bad at all.

Hmm. I'd like to see what they look like in better photos once you get 'em. I've been planning on doing some crashbar-mounted Clearwaters at some point. I ride with a dude who has those on his GS and they're crazy bright. Also, with the amber lenses on, it's almost impossible not to see the bike. About three times as much as these, though.

I just ordered them last night. I'll take some pics once I receive them and post them on here.

My Fog lights made for the R1200R arrived today from Germany. I snapped a few pics. They look really good and seem solid. The mounting instructions seem pretty straight forward as well and for a total of around $230 they also seem a good deal.

Are they "FOG" lights (SHORT wide beam) or "Driving" lights (narrow LONG beam)

They can't be both...even though one site lists them as FOG/Driving lights!

They are fog lights. Primarily I wanted them to increase my visibility on the road day and night and secondarily as a extra set of lights for night riding.

I really like those mounts. I have seen lots of fork mounts but I have always been leery of adding additional weigh to the forks.

Unfortunately not as I don't take delivery of my bike until early April

I ordered a 2012 R1200R and the bike was scheduled to be built this week. It takes 5 weeks or so to make it to my dealer. I don't plan on taking delivery until first weekend in April due to the winter weather here. I've attempted to kill time waiting by ordering lots of farkles.

I don't feel bad today having no bike as we're in the middle of a snow storm that is going to dump 7" or 8" of snow. Even if I had the bike I'd not be able to ride it.

I liked the looks as well as the mounting system of the Motobozzo lights. The price for the kit is cheap in my opinion. I couldn't make the brackets for what the kit costs...

I decided to use LED H3's instead of the standard 55w bulbs the kit came with. I still have to wrap the wires and zip tie them. I'm going to order yellow LED's and see how that looks. (This thread got me thinking viewtopic.php?f=20&t=24491)

I ran the wires into the headlight and paralleled the circuit with the bikes low beam. The LED's do not cause a conflict with the CANBUS system. Since I used the LED's I didn't use the relay/switching system the kit came with.

Those look nice
