Having sold my 07 R12R to place an order for a 2011 R12R Classic I am kicking myself about selling my R12R 07. In fact i am wondering why the bloody hell did I sell my R1150R. I have had several BMW M3s that I have bought and sold and never gave it a second thought selling them. The only two reasons I can put it down to is firstly I'm an idiot and secondly these bikes (no matter which year) are so dam great they just seem to get in your blood. I have mates that I ride from time to time with and they just don't get the whole RR thing its a bit oddball to them. Don't know about being oddball quirky perhaps but to me a middle aged weekday senior executive trying to look like a outlaw bikie on the weekends would make a tomcat vomit but I guess that just me.

I predict that after a few miles on the new R1200r, you will be feeling much better.

I suspect you guys are right. When I take delivery I will not be so twisted. Riding an RR is just my favorite thing to do. If I'm not riding I'm thinking about the next ride.

Cheers guys

The new bike will cure this. I love my '03 R1150R but I made the serious mistake of riding my buddy's '09 R1200R and broke Eilenberger's rule.
It took two weeks of riding my beloved 1150R to bleach my brain of that R12R ride.....

Hey Pas,

Thanks and I will be on cloud nine when I get my new RR. However I should have never sold my R1150R. When I figure out how to post a picture I will post one of the 1150. I did a lots of farkles and to be honest it was a real blast !

Cheers

The 1150 and 1200 are different rides. Coming from the K75, the 1150 remained german - solid through and through. The 1200 is light and responsive - italian? i don't know but completely different.

I know what you mean because after selling my 1150 I bought an 07 R1200R. Now I"m waiting to get my hands on the 2011 R1200R Classic.

Know what you mean. When I found my like new 04 R1150R a year and a half ago, I really wanted a R12R but could not justify the cost. Recently, I found a great deal on a 1200R I could not pass up. I did not need to sell the 1150 but figured I might as it would not be as satisfying as the 1200R. Truth is, I can't sell it. No way. It's a great, solid machine that I use for trips and the 1200R is my shorter, fun ride machine though I have the luggage for it as well. Love them both.

I have to admit as much as I like the R1200R I STILL regret selling my '99 R1100R. The only thing that sucked about that bike was the seat. I'm considering painting my bike that "Pacific Blue" color but probably never will. I really miss that things grips....slightly larger in the center...really liked that.

I regretted selling my two-tone R1100R for a very long time. Nothing else satisfy. Now I'm happy again with R1200R Classic, also two-tone!

I have absolutely NO regret on trading in my '04 R1150RS for the R1200R. My annual mileage went up 2X, and has stayed there for 4 years now..

The only thing I miss about my R1150R is the instrument panel. I liked how it looked and it was made of metal.
