has any one installed the new verholen handlebar adapters (risers) to a 2011 r1200r (i have the classic)
was it an easy install (i.e. just cut some plastic ties to give you more slack on the lines) or did you have to do more like re-run some of the lines and or get a longer break line ?

Thanks

I did have to replace the brake line. The original one would fit, but I was uncomfortable with the tension on it. So, I opted to replace it with a 1 1/2" to 2" longer one. My dealer did the job for me.

Sorry, no. I had the dealer do it when I was in for the 600 mile service. I do believe though it was not BMW. There is another company that provided it. I will do a little research to see if I can find out.

ARG!
It's
BRAKE!
Break is when something is broken. Sorry - for some reason that is just like screeching fingernails on a blackboard to me.. I start getting all sweaty whenever I see it..

For me, it's those who don't know the difference between "then" and "than". Glass houses, Don?

When you say New.... I hope you are not mistaking the risers in the photo you posted. Look carefully at the handlebars in the photo. The ones in the photo are from an earlier version of the bike. I had an '09 which had the handlebars in the picture. The bars are the same diameter everywhere. The '11 model bikes have handlebars that start that thick at the grip & expand to a larger diameter by the time they get to the riser attachment point. They will not fit. If you have access to a mill or a lathe you may be able to out size them but you may compromise the structural integrity. I'd hate to see you drop $165 on parts that don't work. Perhaps Verhollen has issued an updated version to fit the new bikes but I haven't seen or heard of it yet. So before you buy grill them on this point & make sure its going to fit.

Gee - isn't it 'their english class'
Isn't it funny when grammar and spelling become an issue on a motorcycle forum. When I started riding, some of the guys I rode with could hardly read. But they were good riders.

There are Verholen risers especially made for the 11' model. I know, I have them on my '11.

I installed the MV kit on the F800R, same size bars as the 11' R's.... not sure if the 12R kit comes with a brake line like the F800R kit does.... here's my DIY anyways if it helps.

Spielgler will make a cable for you to your specifications for about $60. Just tell them "2 inches longer than stock" or whatever you want.
*Edit* I keep saying cable, where I mean line.

Now that you mention the name Spiegler, I remember that was who my dealer ordered it from. Works great and maybe even a better cable than the oem one. I asked for a 2 to 3 inch longer cable.

Hello the tourtech company replied to an email question about making them for a 2012 R1200R and they don't, and other shops?
Thanks,
Terry
