frame clamp/mount for doo-dads

Anyone have a quick & easy method for mounting goo-gahs to the frame? E.g., say I want to put an electrical box or switch or other doo-dad some where on the frame - I envision a single tab of plastic or metal, curved to go perhaps half-way around a frame member that could then be zip-tied or otherwise fastened & that would provide a mount point for stuff. Like the letter J with the curve for mounting to the frame & the stem to drill & fit to the goo-gah...

Thoughts?

Im not sure if your mounting is supposed to be temporary or permanent. For all doohickies I have the RAM mount systems are pretty inclusive and have enough mounting options to satisfy any need I have at this point.

Thanks, I'll look into the RAM option - I find those parts kind of clunky and obtrusive - I'm thinking small, invisible and elegant (or just invisible). Perhaps I'll just fashion something from aluminum if I can't find a bit of RAM stuff in the basement that fits the bill.
