Brakes

Post by MJB »

Just wondering....How long do your brakes last.

1. Brake Pads Front and Back

2. Roters.

I have a 2007 R with about 40,000km or about 25,000miles
I have ABS

I did change the rear pads when I had about 27,000km / 17,000miles
The front pads seem to be ok.

But now when I apply the front brakes ( I only use the front leaver as the front and back are linked) the bike seems to pull a little like the rotor is not round.

Any thoughts?

Pulling is unusual problem since all the brakes are in line.
Question? Did you sand the glaze off the rotors when you changed pads?
I always use scotchbrite pad or 200 grit sandpaper and rotate the wheel to clean glaze off rotor. They glaze up and make the brakes grab or feel like they are warped.
Always do this when using new pads.
Look at thickness of fr pads, if you can't see any gap or 1/8" of pads left, start planning to change them.
My fav is EBC HH.
