It's Official

Well after testing some bikes and testing some more. I took the plunge today. This came home with me this afternoon.
It seems they really have this one dialed in. I tested a 2010 model and didn't come away all that impressed. It was also 18 degrees out. So Maybe that had something to do with it. I took a fifty mile test ride on an '11 yesterday and had a hard time coming back.

Awesome! Welcome to the fold. The R1200 R was made for the Catskills.

I approve! I have one exactly like it purchased a week ago
Oops, you have some covers on the cylinder heads... I like. I must find out more about those.

Yes, Max in Troy
+1 on it being a great bike for the Catskills.
The pictures of your bike spurred me on.

That is such a fine color! (The bike underneath isn't so bad, either)

Lovely looking bike - congratulations.
I just learned that mine is a twinkle in some Bavarian's eye and will start to become reality in Munich on 6th June (Oh the Irony!). I'll have to wait until the 15th to get my paws on it but if the dealership misses that date it'll be another 5 weeks after my next sandy work rotation.
A second Irony is that we're off on vacation taking our 4 wheeled Bavarian masterpiece to the Black Forest - ending up in Munich before getting the motor rail back north again - me and my new bike might even be on the same ferry
Beginning to get rather excited now

Congratulations on the great new red bike!
18 degrees in the middle of May!!! I know what that is like. I'm sure glad I left that (I lived in Chicago for 9 years and Detroit for 4 years) and moved to North Carolina.
