Sportster Windscreen Fitting Guide?

Buying a pre-used BMW sports screen, largely for looks I admit, but fed up with the excessive wind noise from my current MRA screen.
Any guide as to fitting them? I imagine it may become self evident when removing the current screen.

Try this:

These are the instructions for the Sport and Touring screens, which use the same mounting hardware/procedures. Not sure what the MRA screen is but your existing hardware may not work.

Some notes on windshields for the 1150R : I use BMW touring mounts as shown in the above instructions with a CEE Bailey medium screen. It's not about the looks for me but it keeps the rain, wind and bugs off me to an extent that matters for long trips. Another important point learned the hard way for me is to be certain that whatever you do use blue locktite on all screws that attach the WS to the bike. I like the sticks that you use to rub on the stuff as no problems with it running all over. I had to put thread inserts in my triple head this winter to repair the damage caused by the WS top bracket hex bolts vibration in the alu casting.Be certain they are threaded correctly and clean all the threads well before insertion with the thread locker.
I had a Givi on my bike from original purchase and may look cute but absolutely useless for the purpose intended. I have read others saying they like the wind in their face but I get enough with! a WS!

That's great- thanks. The sport screen only has the upper mounts into the triple clamp, similar to my current MRA screen. However, I should also get new mounts with the screen.

Get yourself some ball ended hex wrenches, the angle of the dangle makes it a difficult job for a normal hex wrench.

Currently have hex head screws but would prefer socket head. Must search my garage contents.

Anyone know where I can get just the brackets for this? Just ordered ws from ebay with no mounts. Otherwise I need to fabricate a set.

If you are in UK, Europe, World wide other than Canada / USA

I'd recommend Motorworks and have dealt with them recently. I searched there before I eventually found my screen and brackets on eBay.
They seem in demand - I paid more than I initially intended but still only about 1/3rd of a new screen assembly.

That makes me feel better.

Had to use the shorter hex head screws fitted with Loctite 243. The longer socket headed screws simply hit the headlight bracket and would not enter the threaded hole straight. I foolishly stripped the first few threads trying to insert a screw at an angle. Cleaned up OK with an improvised tapered tap after much cursing and effort.
Screen now looks OK from the rear- BMW logo sits in the middle -but the curved brackets do not fit symmetrically around the instruments (seen from the rear). The screen sits fine around the curve of the headlight shell (seen from the front). Just looks like one bracket takes a longer curve?
Ditto on Fridays loan R1150R.So its not just mine.
