Just felt like dropping a line and say hi!

I got my first R1200R today. A like-new 2007 model with 2000km on it.

I used to ride a Guzzi Stelvio, so this is quite a different beast!

But I got to say, it's exactly what I was expecting. Light (much lighter then a Rockster), fast (feels quicker then a GS), lots of bite in the brakes and just plain fun to ride.

Of course it's not perfect. Although I was looking for a "city" bike, I am still hopping to hit the open road for the occasional road trip... And that's where she really seems to need help. Seats gotta go, bar risers are a must, some sort of touring windshield will be needed, hand guards and a set of hard luggage. So if any ones got good stuff for sale...

Anyways, just really excited and hopping to cross/meet some of you on the road!

Congrats. A couple months ago I bought an 08 with 16,000 miles. The info and feedback on this board have made the bike much more enjoyable. You will get a lot out of both this bike and the board.

Another Guzzi Guy joins the group, I'm sure you'll be happy. BTW; the R1200R is a perfect bike - a City Bike (whatever that is). Problem is that most of us have discovered that with a little thought and effort it can be easily transformed into just about whatever you want it to be. There is a storehouse of information on this list about most of the common modifications with part numbers and locations where they can be purchased and I would suggest you learn to use the search feature, if you don't use it already. Recently someone asked about mirrors and only received 10 replies, but an easy search returned 32 pages of good information. Some of the guys that put that info here have moved on,and the others are most likely out riding so the best way to find stuff is to use the search feature first.
I still check into Wildguzzi.com every now and then (lots of old friends there) and it's surprising how many of those guys show interest in the R1200R.

Welcome... now i'm not the newest noob - but close!

Just rode mine home from the dealer today!! Drenching rain and loving every minute of it. Here's a pic before the T-storms...

Went out for a second run last night and every km, the bike keeps feeling better and better! I'M LOVING IT!

Yes... great info on both forums. Today being Mom's day and all we'll let her decide how to spend the day, but i'm itchin to go for a long ride!

that 600 mile run-in checkup is going to be here before i know it!
