Great forum this and relatively active for such a niche product!

I have a 2 year old black RR which I adore. Not a great mileage(6k) but enjoyed everyone of them.

However the prospect of a red one with the twin cam engine forced me into placing an order for same. Expect delivery around mid March and will keep you posted.

Been a rider for over 40 years and have owned too many bikes to mention(or can remember)but this will be my 4th BM - just love the low down weight and handling of the flat twins.

I have only be around the forum for three months but let me be the first to say welcome. I really like my Granit Grey RR but the thought of a red R1200R sounds very cool. Post up a picture when you get it.

Brian,

I've been avoiding seeing the red one for exactly that reason.. I'm really happy with my '07. I might go look at one if we become bi-coastal after I retire (my son lives in LA.. we're in NJ.. so..) One on each coast would work well. Northeast/souf riding in the summer, and southern CA riding in the winter.

Another Yorkie here. Where are you getting your bike from? I got mine from Robsons at York, Rainbow, -Rotherham had a longer delivery time. I've only seen two other R12Rs at Squires, perhaps I'll see yours one day. Myself and another owner are in the NorthUKBikers, try their website. Next week it's service and MOT time at Robsons, I'm happy with the service received there.

Yes, Robsons is where I am getting it! Spoke woth them to-day and expect delivery around 21st March. They have a 2011 BMW launch day on 19th and expect to have the 6 cylinder there. Can't say I'm that bothered...

Not me. I did a trackday at Mallory with BMWOC but that was 2 or 3 years ago.
Mine is pretty standard, touring screen, GS hand guards,GS head guards, a Zumo and still last Autumn's flies
Next Tuesday is MOT and service at Barry Robsons and a X-country (probably) loaner. I've been happy with the dealership, pleasant guys and a lovely spaniel to fuss.
Do you visit North UK Bikers website? http://www.northukbikers.co.uk

Hope to see you at Squires sometime.

I thought that I would let you know that our Yorkshire roads are ready to ride again after the winter. I met up with some friends at Fridaythorpe on Tuesday and did just short of 200 miles round the Wolds. Heated grips and Hein Gericke's best kept the cold off, but I had to put the hose pipe on the bike when I got home to clear any residual salt.

My bike is now over four years old, with 30.000 miles of all year round riding and no signs of deterioration or wear, i really can not fault it.

Yes, on a fine day our roads are open! But, lots of farm traffic at the moment means high mud slick risk, usually after a bend....

Which day do bikes meet at Squires? I know Jefferies have a meet there on Wed. 16th.

Wednesday nights are usually very busy, particularly in the summer. There can be 2-3,000 bikes through there during an evening. http://www.squires-cafe.co.uk/
North UK Bikers meet up last Tuesday of each month. www.northukbikers.co.uk

Tuesday evening I sent an e-mail to our local Community Constable about a farmer leaving a tremendous amount of mud on a local road. Wednesday 9.15am he ranf to say he would look into it. 10.15am he was in a patrol car checking it out! He would have a word with the farmer. Aren't our policemen wonderful  .
