There is a shop in Scottsdale, Arizona that has (or had) one to rent...
I don't know how much it will cost, though.

Go AZ Motorcycles
Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, KTM, Triumph & Vespa
15750 N. Northsight Blvd.
Scottsdale, AZ 85260
GPS: 33° 37' 43" N 111° 53; 48.5" W"
480-609-1800

If you want to rent the R1200R, I would call them. As it does not seem to show up on their website.

Not sure if they have an R1200R but I have rented an F800GS and an R1200GS from Tourbikes.com in Denver Colorado: http://www.tourbikes.com/bikes.html . Also try http://www.calif-motorcyclerental.com/ , they have R1200R bikes out of San Diego, CA.

The BMW rental place in San Francisco has R12R's..

http://www.dubbelju.com/

I talked to them (but never got that far north last November) - and seemed like very nice people to deal with. Price wasn't awful. http://www.dubbelju.com/bikes.htm#r1200r http://www.dubbelju.com/ratesineng.htm

They have some specials (like when I was there $69/day $0.69/mile) that make it even a better deal if you're not planning on high miles days - plus seasonal discounts.

Good call Don, forgot about Dubbelju. I have rented from them twice and was very satisfied.
