My original bmw rubber brake line sprung a leak, apparently not surprisingly since it's a 2002 model with ABS.
Seems they should be replaced every five years according to the brake specialist I visited to replace them with SS braided lines.
Now I'm based in Australia and for some reason we get to pay premium prices for what you Yanks can purchase at reasonable rates.
Anyway can i please have a few suggestions who might contact in the States to purchase a set of SS lines for my '02 bike?
I just baulked at the $500 plus ballpark quote that i was given back here.
Thanks in advance.

Wow, that is expensive. I reckon that even with shipping you will get them for half that price from
http://www.motorworks.co.uk/ They are a very friendly and helpfull company to deal with. They will also set you up with the paperwork to claim back the EU tax as you are exporting goods from UK to Oz.
Hank.

Be aware that the 04 1150R already has SS lines. Perhaps BMW can supply them cheaper.
These guys ship internationally as well, and they have very good prices.

Thanks for the suggestions guys however I'm not there yet.
Seems the '02 R1150R with ABS is a rare bike to fit brake lines.
Motoworks list only the rear line and Pashnit only have ABS lines for a R1150 GS. Anyone know if the GS lines are the same as for the RR?
More suggestions welcome...though i must say Pashnit very helpful people.
owldaddy i did enquire from my local BMW dealer and they wanted $500 for oem rubber lines, not a great option.
Figure it's better i do my bit to get the US out of recession.
cheers

Spiegler makes a SS brake hose kit to replace all the rubber hose lines on the 2002 ABS R1150R. They fit perfect on my bike.
They also come in many colors.

re 02 1150 r brake lines
my bike is the non abs, but it has an abs connector on the rhs of the headstock, with a bleed point
I'm thinking that the non abs and abs lines are the same for the 02 models?
