Left-Hand Sub-frame Loop's Purpose???

What's the metal loop welded to the left sub-frame tube in front of the passenger footpeg for?
Other than being a convenient tie down point...is there some special use for it, like maybe to tie the subframe up during tranny removal or perhaps an aid to assembling the bike at the factory?
Curious minds want to know...

I posted that exact question a year or so ago and the best answer was that it was maybe something used in the manufacture of it- as you suggested, or something for another bike.
I wanted to mount the reservoir for my wilber's there, on the inside, and the loop was in the way. I cut it off and have missed it nil.

OK. Seriously. Have contemplated the subframe "loop" mystery for some time now. And I did try to use the loop to pop the top of a beer during a rally, but was unsuccessful. So had to double-check tonight...
Wintering during cold & rainy season.
Beverage of choice for battery charger supervision.
The loop.
Blocked by exhaust from rear.
No leverage from side.
Footpeg prevents beer bottle levering from front.
Even twisted the loop up to vertical position (no joy), then down to vertical position in other direction... which detached the forward end from its subframe weld.
Have no fear - I used a Craftsman beer opener from the tool chest to enjoy that cold Fat Tire amber.

Oh Dude!
I have no idea why I am disappointed, but I am. I guess I envisioned myself as the coolest guy at the party, with my bottle-opening motorcycle. But, since I don't go to parties, I rarely drink, and never do those things when riding my motorcycle, it was pointless feature for me anyway.

O.K, I'll let it go this time around. Rogue Brewery is somewhat acceptable, but it does not compare to YouJean made Ninkasi. I tried to top a bottle of Ninkasi on my frame loop and had the same results as you so your point is valid.
