Well, at least one. Taken at the Long Beach Motorcycle Show.
(Sorry for the poor picture, all I had was my phone).

The comfort seat is now standard as well.

The 11's are sweet and I have two things that struck me:
1. Smaller model decals under the rider's butt. I find the R1200R brag's of it's nakedness and I like the label where you can read it.
2. Back to a conventional guage setup - more like a Honda than the typical 'unconventional' BMW. I rather like my F'd-up layout and let it show under my clear windscreen.
-I can take or leave the spoked wheels.
-The striping is kinda retro and bold - I think a nice fit for the reputation of this naked bike.
-I wouldn't oppose the louder exhaust either - though mine gives me great pleasure in sneaking up on walkers and peddlers in a sort of Ninja-like close pass;-) Gotta fit a camera to my mirrors for the post-pass expressions...

Comfort Seat SHOULD be redundant.

I went to the show yesterday and checked it out -- very nice. I don't think it's anything that justifies a new purchase over the current models, but I like the small imporvements, especially the beefy forks. Surprised (but not really) of the $1,100 adder package price for the "Classic".

Scott, did the BMW flaks at the show tell you this? I'm not so sure.

If you look at the photos of the 2011, there are two types of seats — the most noticeable difference being a grab band on the pillion. Furthermore, in the BMW press release, under optional accessories, there is this:

Ergonomics and comfort
• Seat, extra low (height 760 mm).
• Seat, low (height 770 mm).**
• Sport seat (height 800 mm).**
• Seat, high (height 830 mm).
• Comfort seat, high (height 830 mm).**
** Also available as optional factory-fitted equipment.

Maybe the release is wrong, or I'm reading it wrong, but I reckon the comfort seat will be an additional cost on the 2011.

[edit] More about the seat from the press release. Clear as mud:

"… Greater comfort, in particular for the pillion too, is provided for by the new comfortable seat. As part of its optional equipment and optional accessories BMW Motorrad offers seats with a more sporty design and other heights …

Seat height (without rider) in millimeters
800 (standard)
800 (OE, OA, sport seat)
830 (OE, OA, comfort seat, high)
830 (OA, seat, high)
760 (OE, OA, seat, low)
750 (OE, low slung)

OE — Optional extra: The motorcycles are assembled complete with all the BMW optional extras originally ordered.
OA — Optional accessory: You can obtain optional accessories through your authorised BMW Motorrad dealer; optional accessories have to be retrofitted to the motorcycle."

Few thousand years early for the "20111's" I would say, but nice to see BMW out front once again!

Well, the bike on the floor had the comfort seat. I did not look at the sticker to see if it was an option.

You are right about the pictures online. Some have the comfort seat, and others have some new seat.

I guess we will see.

I sat on that same bike today. It does have the comfort seat I have on my 2010. And, a sticker on the tank (lots of stickers on the bikes to tell you the setup of each bike) said simply "standard seat" for what that's worth.
