NOOOOOBIE Here 2010 White

Hi everyone, decided to end my lurker status and jump in to what really looks like a great site. I'm just getting back to the sport after an unexpected get-off from a R1150GS ADV. Yeah, its taken nearly 5 yrs. to screw up the nerve again, but, at least I am back in the game. I have been riding off and on though mostly on for approximately 35 yrs. (yeah I am an old guy). So, I am now on chapter 3 of different riding periods. Have been fortunate to have had a nice assortment of bikes with my only regret of not being able to keep them all.
So, starting with a Honda 350, then a Triumph 650 Tiger followed by a Bonneville finishing up that period of riding with a Norton 750. Then I got married and it became either "Me or the Norton a well as the command of absolutely NO MORE BIKES". So what did I do? Bye-bye Norton and then a couple of years later see ex-wife.
Chapter 2 started off with a naked K100 which led to several HDs., including a Sportster, Super Glide, Road King with a Fat Boy bring up the rear. During the Road King era i had a skiing accident where I managed to blow out 3 cervical disks and a dislocated shoulder. Had surgery to fuse the 3 disks but it was only marginally effective in terms of the non-compliant suspensions of the Road King and Fat Boy. This caused a 3 year retirement in riding. I got back into bikes first on a K1200GT which gave way to the 1150 ADV as my neck could not handle the riding position of the GT. So, when a driver decided that he wanted to share my lane he never bothered to ask and I paniced, grabbed all the brake I could I could find and ultimately low-sided. Bike damage was moderate but the me-damage somewhat more significant resulting in a torn rotater cuff and right knee torn ACL and MCL as wellas being scared to death of riding.
So, fast forward a bit with 2 shoulder replacements (same shoulder) and here I am with my white R1200R from Bloodworth Motor Sports and loving it while also resuming my first name relationship with the UPS guy. My BMW is now adorned with Ellenberger hugger, Ohlins (wow much easier on my neck), Staintune exhaust (header ceramic coated) and muffler, Rizoma "radial naked" mirrors, Sargent seat, (I will be selling the BMW "high" Comfort seat), Throttlemeister and Wunderlich Trophy Fairing. I am in the process of getting a GPS and trying to decide between BMW panniers or the Touratech panniers in black. Anyone, gone the Touratech or similar panniers route?
