I'd like to put a top case on my R1150R. What are my options.

I bought a knock off from JC Whitney. It works great. Easy to mount, used the cutting board mod, that was posted somewhere on the site.

Thanks for the info. Do you remember the mounting instructions?

I use a Pelican waterproof case, bought from fleabay, and had a guy at work machine an insert to attach it to my factory rack with allen head bolts. There is a lot you can do if you put your mind to it, start by getting the kind of case you like, set it where you want it, make some sketches, and sharpie the case up a little, then find a friend with skills. I know quite a few guys that can easily afford to buy the latest, but its a challenge to make one that will work well.

Hepco Becker has a very nicely designed top case rack and makes some of the best cases on the planet. They are very proud of their product. Very proud.

For a long time I am using GIVI-52 case. It works fine for me and does the job well.
On my other R1150 and F650 I got low cost Bestem case (46L model 929) and just bolted it to the plastic plate.
You can not load much into it without good hardware, but it will hold the helmet and some light junk.
Can't go wrong with $69.00 and $24.00 for the liner. Here is the link.

P.S. My friend got a smaller box for his R1200R and mounting hardware and the finish is much better.
Good Luck.
