stained engine cases

my 2005 boxer sprung a leak one day on the right side fuel line (petcock or whatever) and left indelible pee-coloured stains on my engine. an otherwise mint bike now looks permanently like somone took a whizz on it. i've seen this on other boxers for sale too. the only solution i've heard so far is to paint the stained area with an aircraft engine paint. has anyone encountered and solved this cosmetic problem? tx

quite that unlucky, unusual tho that is for me.
I had the brass fuel disconnects in hand before I even touched those plastic ones - that's where the leak usually comes from.
Anyway - I can recommend an excellent paint, thanks to a great tip from R1150Rclean on this forum when I was looking for a paint for a black RTP transmission (just the parts that show when installed) and it turned out very nice. Picture link below.
It's Rust-Oleum "High-Heat" silver, the part number is 7716-830. Rated to resist heat up to 1200 deg F - that's more than most "header" paint. Degrease the surface good, lightly buff with 600 grit, clean well with i.e. paint thinner, etc. The usual several light coats a few minutes apart to avoid runs. No primer needed.
I couldn't find it locally (Lowes or any of the auto parts places), got it very reasonable cost at Amazon.

Unfortunately there is no way to get rid of this stains. No cleaning, polishing or whatsoever will remove them. The only solution is to repaint ...

thanx macx & oliver. excellent. i will use your advice, but can i paint w/o disassembling engine (i.e. if i just tape and protect surrounding area)?

I just had the same thing happen to me this past week. Quick disconnect failed, I dont know how far I rode like that. Got home and my wife said I smelled like gas. Went out and turned the bike back on and had a jet of fuel spraying out. Noticed the yellow stain, nothing would remove it. Thanks for the paint info.

You can certainly try but first of all the task is to find the right paint. The results then will depend on your capabilities ...

Where's a good source for the brass disconnects. I need to do this ASAP.
