Brake pad thickness

I picked up my R1150R yesterday and my partner checked it over and found the front pads were only 2mm thick (service limit 1mm).
We're due to set off on Tuesday for 2 to 3k miles in Europe, do you think they'll see me out?
It could be difficult to source new pads before we go.

Assuming you're in the UK, most BMW dealerships will keep these in stock.
I'd rather change them at home then have to do it on the road!

Thank you.
Just took them out and they are absolutely shot. One of the screws for the stainless cover plate broke off in the caliper

Do a couple of short test rides after you get them changed out, so you can double check that they are not dragging with the new pads in there.

Being that a long journey is in the making, I suggest that you bed the new pads in prior to the trip. This is to insure that he pad surface is in full contact with the rotor during brake application (assuming that the install went about without any issues)
The process requires 5 to 6 judicious stops via the application of the front brakes from 50 mph down to about 15 mph, needless to say this has to be done carefully and away from traffic. Allow the brakes to cool off afterwards via a 10 minute ride and you are good to go.
