Since the forks lock left or right, got a preference?

I've always had the habit of locking the forks to the left, but since the forks on the R lock either way, is there any advantage or disadvantage to locking the forks toward the right?

Until I read your post, I didn't realize they could be locked to the right. I've always been used to locking them to the left because that's the way my airheads were. I locked mine to the right this morning, just because now I know I could. Tomorrow they may very well be locked to the left again.

IMO there's no difference; it's a matter of personal preference.

I'd always lock to the left if the bike's parked on it's side stand (rarely). On the main stand it's a
matter of personal preference. :)

GT,
You learn something new every day! I had to try locking to the right yesterday....just because I could!
Verdict: I guess I like lefty locky.

Personally, I don't like the right or left position and would have prefered it to be in the middle as that would enhance the bilateral symetry of the bike.

While in an anal mood, I used a level (just an app downloaded into my phone) to see which side made the bike lean over farther. Couldn't tell the difference. Maybe it would show on a real level.

I've gotten in the habit of turning the wheel to the right and locking it. That way, if I forget to unlock the forks before rocking the bike off of centerstand I will have half a chance of catching the bike with my left leg before it hits the ground.
