Wilbers users, a fitting ?

Fitting the rear shock, did you find room for the preload adjuster and the canister attachment on the right side tubing which holds the pillion footrest? I have GS bag brackets there on both sides and they extend downward a bit making the vertical spacing look too tight on that down tube for both the canister and preload knob. I don't know if the RR bracket are different (narrower), but that looks like the only spot for the Wilbers unit. I guess I could move the canister aft under the tail with new fittings.

I mounted mine in the spot you're talking about but I removed the charcoal canister early in the bikes life. Search around a bit, there are plenty of threads on the subject between here and ADV.

Thanks, llahbocaj. I did a search, most successively on this forum where there are four page of listings of Willbers threads, but found no installation which preserves the canister. I work in the shop where I park the bike and have a sensitivity to some volatiles (gasoline among them) so try to keep the air clean. Tomorrow I'll try Ted Porter who provided the shocks. With longer hoses there must be another spot for the canister under the tail.

On the Roadsta I mounted the preload adjuster where the OE one was...as directed.
Had to mount the lo/high speed compression & rebound adapter on the right passenger footpeg mount.
Mount on the forward tube, as low as you can get, to give your right heel as much room as possible on the peg.
Replace the provided narrow, cheesy hose clamps with some ~1/2" in width, painted gloss black....
Looks cool... 8) & I was able to keep the cannister.
