Nyloc (nylon insert locking nut) for Brake Lever source?

I am installing the CNC BMW Brake and Clutch levers and BMW shows a plain black oxide nut in the catalog for the pivot nut, yet the R1200R has a tall SS nylock nut. The BMW dealer supplied a generic SS 5MM nut with a nyloc insert, but its a lot shorter than the one on the bike. Since its such a critical application and you are not supposed to use these nuts again I am trying to track down a source for the correct length and grade nylock nut.
Has anyone replaced or removed their levers and found the correct nuts? - also , the manual calls for 7nm / 5 ft-lbs (!) for this tiny nut.
Such a seemingly simple task, but since its a critical area I want to get the right fastener on there at the right torque.
Any input appreciated.

mcmaster.com, grainger.com, fastenall.com? the last two have local offices. Bigger cities have fastener supply companies that have will-call counters.

I've replaced both levers on the R1200R and the R1200S with passo levers and have only used what the bike has, I have never had to replace parts. If you are saying that you have to I have not had any problems then and now!

Do you recall what torque value you used on those nuts? - I think the BMW service manual specification (at 7nm [5 ft-lbs]) would break such a small fastener - thanks.

Tell us more. Where did you get them and what did they cost?

From your question I'll assume (yes I know about assume) your unaware that the parts fiche for your bike is on the internet in a few places. I use the one from Max BMW
http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/ ... d=03192010. Go to steering (32)and i think your talking about stop nut (part# 07119903070). Call Max or order from your local dealer and you have the official BMW nut for 71 cents each. As far as the torque, if your going to the trouble to get the official nut then it follows that the official torque rating should be OK.
Personally - I would put a little loctite on it and reuse it. It's only a stop nut and even if it fell off you probably would never notice the difference. Not a suggestion but only what I would do.

I have 8 of these here sourced from Max and they are plain nuts (part# 07119903070), not sure I want to put locktite on a nylon insert nut - strange that BMW will not sell you the correct tall Nyloc nut....
