My First Motorcycle Rally

Hey guys...yesterday I did my first motorcycle rally. It was a local rally and only 8 hours in length so I figured that it was a great way to see if it was something that I liked and if I had the knack for routing. Well I had a great time and did quite well (I was pleasantly surprised)

This was a typical southern ontario summer saturday with hot weather and huge storm cells dotting the province. I was able to avoid the storms and only hit a little rain on my way back to the Start-Finish line. 467 km in 7 1/2 hours. Basic route Flamborough - Ayr - Stratford - Woodstock - Paris - Brantford - Hamilton - Port Colborne - Welland - St Catharines - Jordan and Back... over 6000 points Highest individual rider score and second overall...not too shabby for my first time out. Sad part of the day was that two of the participants crashed and several got caught in the storm cells...

Celeste,
If you want to give a REAL BMW rally a try consider the Finger Lakes Rally held in the Watkins Glen area on Labor Day Weekend (US Holiday). IMHO it's one of the best run BMW rallys in the Eastern part of the US.
This rally historically attracts a large number of riders from North of the border, in fact one of The Canadian Clubs has won the most members in attendance award quite a few times much to the embarrassment of the US riders.

I think the club is BMW Riders of Quinte West out of Cobourg, Ontario, here's a link: http://www.ltbmwr.ca/index.html

I do plan on attending the BMW MOA rally in PA next summer. I am already all booked up with motorcycle things to do this year...so many things to do and so few weekends...

That is very cool Celeste. It's interesting to see the route too. I've yet to participate in one of these but hope to some day.
