I have had a minor fuel leak over time on the quick disconnect side of the bike and so upgraded to the metal beemer boneyard disconnects and had these fitted at BMW Motorad with the proper crimps etc after a big ride over Christmas. All has been good on the long rides I have done since, however when I get stuck in traffic/congestion and get home there is some fuel streaking down the transmission (not a great deal but enough to leave a couple of dirty yellow streaks running doen the casing). All the lines/disconnects seem dry/no sign of leakage, however the throttle body and around the injector seem to show fuel residue/streaking. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue i.e. no leaks from the fuel lines, but small amounts of fuel coming from around the throttle body - again doesn't seem to happen on the open road/fast rides, but in congested traffic situations? As luck will have it the transmission hasn't stained yellow. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks folks

The fuel injector has two o-rings, one at the top where the fuel line meets the injector and one at the bottom where the injector attaches to the TB. Suggest running your finger around the area while the event is taking place, that might pinpoint the source. If the culprit is found, replace boh o-rings.

Thanks Boxermania - if I can't detect any leakage around the injector and the problem recurs I might change the o-rings you have pointed out as part of the process of elimination. Fingers crossed, and thanks for the feedback.

I would like to amend my earlier post. The clamps on the fuel lines coming out of the tank have also been problematic. They can only be acessed with the tank off the bike. Check with the dealer that performed the earlier work to see if these clamps were updated as well.

Use the "FI clamps" the ones with a band with a small bolt and captive nut.

Thanks Boxermania, will check for any seepage from that area as well. The dealer used the BMW fuel clamps and crimping tool i.e. no screws, but can't see any seepage from these at the connectors. I've cleaned all areas/pipes and throttle bodies so they are now spotless and will re-check when I get out for a ride this weekend. Cheers again for the advice and will share what I find once I track the culprit down.

It IS remotely possible that a leak may have developed in the hard high pressure fuel line coming from the distributor to the injectors. But I think you would see a tiny spray if that were the case, unless it was up under where you can't see. That distributor and the attached lines are really tough to install too. I would check everything else first!
