Exactly...

An high-side, on a twisty, muddy & wet hill road, that caused me a dislocation of the clavicle and rupture of ligaments.

Bike is doing much better than me (... the famous German strength ).

Did the slider protect the final-drive case?

Last March the same accident happened to the rider in front of me during the final test of a Motorcycle Safety Foundation basic rider class. As the rider exited the avoidance-maneuver station — having just performed flawlessly in the low-speed turn box — he rolled on the throttle (accelerating toward a ditch) instead of braking. He panicked, locked the front brake and flew over the bars onto his shoulder. He had to be taken away in an ambulance and did not pass.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for you, Ziobato. I'm on the motoring sidelines, too: We got about 20 inches of snow yesterday in the Washington, D.C., area. Too deep to even sled.

The bike slid and rolled in such a way that the slider didn't hit the ground.
Pillion's peg and tail did it.
