Mounting a 660 Zumo on R1200 R

Post by Fisherman »

Does anyone have pictures or info on mounting a 660. Specifically does the size of the unit hide any instruments? I know that you can mount the unit close to the windscreen on top of the instruments but this is too far away for me to see.

I currently use a 2730 mounted on the left side handlebar near the handguard. It does not obscure anything, however I want a bigger and easier to read screen.

Thanks,

I have a 660 and it barely hides the red line section of the RPM gauge but you can see everything else. I originally mounted it with the ram mount that comes with it on the bars but that exposes it so I purchased the bracket from touratech that is lockable and allows you to mount it to the center of the bar behind the windshield. See the photo below, the perspective won't help you but trust me on this unless your a midget (you know, under 6')

Hope this helps. I'm 6-1, and the 660 obscured the bottom half of the rev counter for me.
