Revised Plan for Sydney Ride

Ok - last weekend was a dead loss - dust and wind. Not so good.
So - we are trying to get it going for this Sunday. Same time, same place.

__________________________________________________________

To all those in the Sydney AUSTRALIA area who may be interested in a ride with other BMW owners this weekend.
My wife rides an F800ST and has arranged a ride with some of the members of the F800 forum for this weekend. I thought it would be fun to join them and expand the group. F800's and R12R's fit well together. In fact any bikes are welcome.

The ride is departing from the McDonalds in Windsor on Sunday 4th at 9:30am and will be travelling up the Putty Road to Singleton and then back to Sydney via Wollombi, Buckety, Brooklyn and the Old Pacific Highway back to Hornsby.

rough Google Map route (ignore the strange detour it has added around Calga).

No idea how many are looking to come - two for certain (me and my wife) but one or any number more are welcome.
If the weather is bad (wet) we will not be going but it's looking great for a run in the country if today is anything to go by. If we need to cancel again - I will post an update early on Sunday morning (around 6:30am)

Hope some of you are free and are interested.
Casual attitude and love of riding are the only requisites.

Mark,

Have a good one and don't forget it's double-demerits this weekend. No doubt the constabulary will be out in force.

I am in for this ride at this stage although I have heard vague forecasts of rain - will play it by ear.

Also OK for next Saturady 10 Oct as suggested by Caroanbill- see other post

Yep - rain is forecast so it may be better to push it back to the following weekend.

Hard to get these group rides off the ground.

Come on guys / girls - double demerits, rain, WTF there are roads to be had; places to be bestrode.

Problems are solutions in disguise - let's get out there.

War stories are for 11's, memories are for paticipants.

My vote - we ride till we stop. Then we regale our trip and return to our nether lives.

How right Bodes is - barring total cyclonic conditions, I will be there. Don't forget Caoanbill has suggested a 1/2 day ride on Saturday 10 th already.

Mark (& others)

When you say McDonalds Windsor is there one actually in the town and is that the one you mean?

I typed McDonalds Windsor into google maps and it came up with one @ McGrath's Hill just south of Windsor at the corner of Groves Av & Windsor Rd which I know as a meeting spot for rides.

Just want to make sure we attend at the right place!

I have just spoken to Bodes and as he pointed out, much of the fun of the Putty Road would be lost in this wet weather. hence we won't be venturing out tomorrow but will hope for dryer conditions next Saturday. How many others would be up for the type of ride suggested by Bodes?
