Back in late 2007, the UK fuel cell developer Intelligent Energy teamed up with Suzuki Motor to showcase a prototype motorcycle called Crosscage that is powered by a lithium-ion battery charged by a fuel cell pack. In May this year, Intelligent Energy said it plans to launch a test fleet of the bike near its headquarters later this year. Here is a link that talks about the original agreement. Your future bike?

Not bad looking, but I guess I'd have to revert back to my childhood and make vroom vroom noises myself, or stick a baseball card in the spokes.

There will come a time when kids on their hot-wheels will imitate the keening whine of a high-output electric motor. Vroom-vroom will go the way of Choo-choo.

I was thinking there is a market for a car stereo that makes your electric car (or motorcycle) sound like any hot rod engine you want. It would be coll to be able to change from a hemi to a Ferrari. And it definitely wold beat the booming noise I hear coming out of some cars at stoplights.

I spoke to the 'Zero' Motorcycle company technical spokesman at the MotoGP in Laguna Seca last summer, and they are the first all electric bikes I even considered owning. The technology is really coming along quickly these days, and maximum torque available at virtually zero RPM is pretty crazy! They now have a dirtbike version for sale as well... the range was about 50 miles per charge (then). They'd be a pretty cheap commute after you pay them off, barring mechanical problems of course.

I am really looking forward to electric vehicles in general...not just mototcycles.

Mechanically they are so simple and elegant, maintenance and repair should be so much better than the Internal Cumbustion Engine. The inherent output of electric (max torque at 0 RPM) means the elimination or massive simplification on the transmission (clutch, and torque converter). YAY!! The tranny is a huge waste of power, added weight, complexity and cost.

We just need to find much better ways of storing electricity. BOO!!!

I'd love to own one to commute with!!! Now I think the Zero is butt ugly,,, and my R12R is one of the sexiest bikes out there (in my opinion ), now I do have to say the Suzuki version is a great looking bike. My only porblem is your paying about $10k for a bike with very limited range. Especially since it's 80 some miles just to get around the Denver area...
