Does anyone know a shop or mechanic in the South Jersey area that can change and/or get tires for my 2004 R1150r, so I can avoid the high cost the dealer charges for service and tire sale? [-o< Thanks!

check the preferred installers list on the motorcyclesuperstore website. Its a list of shops you can have your tires shipped to that will install, and it lists their rates! Its amazing how different the prices are. by going outside my neighborhood I saved $80.

There is a local shop by me (I'm just across the river from So Jersey, about 15 miles south of Phila) that does mounting and balancing for $35 per wheel. The local Honda dealer also does it for about the same price.

If you want to do your own for free (or very low cost - a $5 donation per tire), you're welcome to join the local SE PA BMW club, Mac Pac http://macpack.largiader.com/.
They have a Coates tire changer and wheel balancer for use of members. While you'll have to do the work yourself, you can always find someone to guide you through the process of mounting and balancing. All the tools needed are there, plus you can have your new tires shipped to where the changer is stored.

Whatever you decide, I'd suggest also changing your valve stems. Not worth reusing the old stems and risking what could be a catastrophic failure (or a least a major PITA)considering the cost of new.
