For the last couple of days I have been anxiously waiting on my latest farkles. [-o<

Late yesterday (6/25/09) I get an email from the delivery service that the service had been contacted by the On Line Retailer that my order IS ready to ship. I ordered the items last week (6/18/2009) by phone cause their web sites "shipping" were not working correctly (hint?). They charged my card on the 18th. :-k

A couple hours after the Deleivery email I received a order update from the retailer notifying me that the order has been shipped.

RECAP.....I ordered and paid for the items in the 18th, Retailer ships on the 25 [-X AAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This blows.

PLease note this retailer is a ON advertiser and has a reconizable name, but is not a Major/National/Mega retailer.

I feel your pain. Ordered a gps 3 weeks before a trip with my wife, it arrived the night before we left... no pressure to register, unlock the software/maps and wire it up before bed!

if you are compelled to share this by frustration, please tell us who it is so we can be aware and avoid like frustration. i don't think it's bad form, i think it's a consequence of their suspect performance and you are only sharing the facts.

that will not necessarily make me avoid the place, it just makes me aware that this could happen and i can choose whether to go through that or try another retailer.

One thing I can suggest to the group is to ask if the items are in stock for immediate shipment. That is the magic question I use for camera stuff. A lot of the online stores do not actually have the items they sell in stock and it seems to be a game they play. I have canceled orders and charges for being jerked around like that.

The other thing to watch for is the game of not shipping a number of items until the entire order can be filled. Tell them to ship whatever is not back-ordered immediately.
