How can I tell if my used R1200R has the lowered suspension?

I hope I have the standard suspension but I want to prove it to myself. Do the lowered bikes have a different colored spring or some other identifying elements?

I obtained some service invoices with the bike and one of them has a printout of installed equipment (correctly notes the lowered seat) and it has no mention of lowered suspension. I'm a little gun shy now that I may have purchased a bike unsuitable for my size and I just want a way to know what I actually have. I search the word "lowered" but didn't find the answer.

Measure the distance from the center of the top bolt on the rear shock to the center of the bottom bolt. You could be able to do this with a tapemeasure..

I'll go measure my normal height one. They lowered the suspension by putting in shorter shocks.

Just measured - mine is 14 7/8" - to perhaps 15" (best measurement..)

If you do have the low suspension and don't want it I imagine someone (mebbe me) would be willing to trade.. (I have mine lowered via custom Hyperpro suspension..)

I have the lowered suspension and my front shock says "K27 Low" on it.

Dale, I hope you get her sorted. There is a Corbin for sale on this board that sounds like it is "standard" height or another rider may want to swop for your low version.

My bike felt so different (bad??) on the first longer rides that I questioned how my initial impressions could have been that far off. The angle on the bars were killing my forearms and I couldn't get my feet comfortable trying to load the inside peg in the twisties, etc. My previous bike had clip ons and more rear set pegs. Every bike change has left me with questioning my choice and I did what I always do, ride the crap out of it. My muscles readjusted, I figured where to slide my butt into the seat when setting up tight turns, etc., and I am loving her more every minute. YMMV, but I would try to get out for some 200-300+ mile rides as often as time will allow and see how you feel after 1000-2000 miles. If she's not for you I wouldn't imagine you would have any problems selling her for something better suited.

I measure pretty close to 15" on the rear and don't see the markings on the front so I guess I have the standard suspension, which is what I thought. Also thanks for the encouragement about normal misgivings after a new bike purchase. I think this is going to work out once I have a taller seat (swap in progress with famousperson) and also a much taller windshield.
