Could we share information's regarding a selection
of the Safest Hottest & Coolest Touring Leather Jacket ? (Hot & Cool in all meaning of the term)
I am looking for a similar jacket but with protectors design leaning more toward Race Jacket. Actually I ride with a vintage 70's/80's German Motorcycle cops that I really like but no padding, very heavy and too hot...but it was designed to ride with a BMW by the way (to please the snobs)
And forget Belstaff unless its a special edition with padding's and AFFORDABLE to shop !
As example I kind of like the one pictured below even if not sure the padding's and protectors are that efficient...
This is from Held---> http://www.heldusa.com/varano.html

I visited this page http://www.revzilla.com/product/firstge ... her-jacket
Its maybe a nice jacket to wear but it is slightly a bit too much "BIKER" with a big "B".
In an other hand I am trying to see if I can get one of the RUKKA jacket without all the Printed Brand Tags....You spend a $1000 in a jacket and you still have to transform yourself as an advertisement billboard....who these peoples think they are ?

Hey Frede, don't let the "Uniform of the Day" comments bug you. Comfort and design are subjective. All the posted gear is great stuff, but I also like the look and history of your old motor unit jacket. It likely gives more protection than what is being assumed here. There is a reason racers still use leather for protection in addition to the pads, etc., that have been incorporated in the new designs. The new applications can definately provide a "better" level of injury prevention, but you have to want to wear it or it will do you no good parked in the closet. In 40+ years of riding to include racing in my youth, I have worn everything from custom leathers to jeans and a windbreaker

I use leather and various "fabric" gear now depending on the weather expected, riding a track school, etc. Perferated leather can be very comfortable in high temps. Many sewing machines use a computer to load the design into and it drives the machine to make the garment. There are "leather" shops that can plug in your jacket design/measurements and add the pockets for pads to slip in. I would bet in CA you have more options than many places in the Country as even here in NC there are a couple that make jackets, saddle bags, etc.
Keep the faith and safe travels.

I'm a fan of the Olympia product line.
Here's the Airglide 2 jacket which I have in Hi-Viz Yellow.

I purchased an HD FXRG leather jacket some years ago.
It is an excellent jacket with great ventilation, armour, plenty of pockets, the leather is water resistant, it also comes with rain liner and a cold weather liner.
It doesn't have any Skulls or eagles on it just a small FXRG label.
I've never gotten wet wearing it and expect to get many years of use from it.
The jacket also comes with a four year warranty.
I believe the price is around $600, but many Harley dealers have discounts of 20% regularly.

Thanks guys for all generous feedback's !
I am slowly investigating all the possibility's...
Until now I am kind of undecided
in between the Rev'it shade Jacket and the soft leather Held Varano jacket
previously pictured in the first post of this thread.
Varano Held
Here is the Rev'it Shade which in some circumstances could work fine
with the Infinity one piece suit.
With he Infinity one piece suit available in luggages weared over the shade during cold ride.
Or only the infinity if wearing a tuxedo or suit underneath...
