I presume they are plastic, seem sturdy and thick enough to take a bit of a slide, what do they sell for?

Nope - they're aluminium (or an ally alloy), just like the originals.
The Original Stantons are good for SEVERAL offs - mine have been on both my Rocksters.

as Rice' says they are made in a foundry... Aluminium £114 sterling .... whatever that is in USD.
They are SUBSTANTIAL..... and came about because the original stantons are not available anymore..
