Wunderlich handlebars with risers.

I already have bar backs installed. Does anyone one know if the Wunderlichs would require longer cables when used with the bar backs? I'm told some people have used cables from a GS, but the local BMW dealer is not familiar with this.

I did not change anything in order to install Wunderlich touring bar with bar-backs.
Just reroute cables and break line for the front breaks.
Oh.. and be careful when taking the bike first time for a spin.
It will give you the impression that your bike lost 150 pounds.

If you have not already bought the handlebars I will be putting a set of Wunderlich touring bars on E-Bay in the next week for $90 plus shipping. I am going to sell my 05 R1150R and buy a dual sport so I put the standard bars back on. Let me know if your interested and I can e-mail you when I post them.
As far as the cables go, several people on this forum have installed the bars on the R1150R Roadster with changing the cable. If you have a Rockster which has shorter cables and lines than the Roadster you may need to replace the brake and clutch lines if you don't want to run them behind the triple tree.

I tried both the Wunderlich touring bars and bar backs on my 2004 Roadster, but I felt the brake line and throttle cable were too short, even with re-routing. I looked at GS cables and hoses, but because of the cost and hassle, I decided to just remove the bar backs. Just my experience.

I have bar backs installed and the cable are okay, but I think a bit of slack would be good as they are kinda taut now.
What is the easiest way to re-route the wires and clutch/brake lines? It there already a topic stored somewhere on the forum?

Move the clutch and brake hoses, and the throttle cable outside of the headlight bracket. The wires should be long enough to leave them where they are. You have to remove the headlight and turn signals to make the change, but it isn't difficult and really gives you a lot of slack. The Wunderlich touring bars come with instructions on re-routing the stuff. Works the same with bar backs.
