R1150R Logo

Here's a question for the community: I want to put an image or outline of an R1150R on my business card. Staples promises to put it on if I can supply an image. Would any of you know where such an image could be obtained, obviously a non-copywrited image? Or how one could be created from a photo, perhaps?
Regards,

Several years ago I had a similar thought but I wanted to put the logo on a t-shirt. I went to a local printer (they do shirts among other things) and asked about it. They told me to bring them as good a photo as I could come up with and they could reproduce it on a shirt. To avoid copyright issues they suggested that they should make some subtle changes (color variations for example). I never followed thru however. BMW stuff is hard to find outside of a dealership. On the other hand you can't walk thru any type of store at all without tripping over something HD. Those guys know how to market.
You can do a search and come up with all sorts of stuff with the logo on it. Just photos of the logo for example. I would imagine you could do some cut and pasting using picture editing software to have something useful.
But if you get caught and BMW sends you away for copyright infringement we'll take up a collection for you!

I just read your post closer.. you want a picture of a bike, not the "r1150r" logo. Oops!
Did you search google images, ie:
http://images.google.com/images?ndsp=21 ... rt=63&sa=N
If you find one you like, maybe you can ping the owner of the site and ask if its ok to use them?

I thought the same as indicated by the post title. Photos should be plentiful.
Shoot a pic of your own bike and give it to the printer.

what about the renderings that were on the shirts/mugs that FiremanLI created for the shop 4-5 years ago? they were drawings of the bike.

I was messing around with some images to ideally use them as a small logo on the front of a t-shirt. Feel free to use them as you want. I have the original images which these were made from too. Let me know if you want a copy.
Larger color format (approximately 1.4MB):

Take yourself a nice shot of the bike and then get someone to 'vectorise' it for you. maybe you have a signshop near you that can do it cheaply.
i use
www.drawuk.co.uk
if your time scale is not urgent James does a wonderful job. Tell him just how much detail you need, what you want to use it for etc.
another Co. is Vectorwise run from UKsignboards.com!
Its a global thing so e-mailing the UK is not out of the question, PayPal can sort the payment. There are loads of vectorisers out there..these are 2 that i know and trust..

John - your image is exactly what I was looking for - 1 color and a head-on shot of the bike showing the jugs. All I want is a rohrshack looking image. So yes, could you please send me the image?
And by the way, thanks to all of you who responded and made suggestions.

PS: Do you need my email address?

Just save the image to your computer and print it. Should be what you want if your printer is up to snuff. I like your idea!

For vectorizing an image, here is a great free resource:

I have used it a number of times.
