I am looking at a bike with 2 damaged valve cover/cylinder head covers. As far as replacement, do all the 1100 series motors use the same covers? If I find used GS or RT covers will they fit? Thanks.

The 1100 covers (R/GS/RS/RT) are all the same. I believe just the S covers are different but will also fit. However rather than buying new ones you might want to try getting some used ones or if yours just have some scratches smooth them and get them painted or powder-coated.

Kind regards

Greetings:

I've got a US model of the 75yr anniversary 2001 R1100R. It has chromed heads ala the cruiser. Anyone have info on how my bike compares to other R1100s? Are the head specs the same?

Thanks,

StevenG in SoCal, US

My left cover had deep scratches from a po low speed tip. Yesterday I was checking valve lash and while I had cover off I sanded with a cheap vibrating detail sander and painted with silver engine enamel. looks great. Color matches perfect.
